LiDAR Laser radar with graphical and touch interface based on Arduino

The project is able to scan in 360 degrees and map a full room in real-time. It is intended for autonomous navigation and indoor mapping used in route optimization and object avoidance.

We are using a rotating laser LIDAR sensor for detection and range finding, and a color LCD with touch capabilities to build an integrated device based on Arduino Mega2560, which is capable of serial communication to another master device, like a robotic platform or a computer.

The project was started by petition of the Electrical Engineer department lab of SFSU, and will be used as example as final project for senior students.
